A Change In Direction

I realized today that my mind can go a million miles a minute or what seems like a million miles a minute that is. I was thinking about the deaths of those precious people who contributed so greatly to the Yankees team over the years. From the owner of the Yankees sudden death to the announcer for the Yankees. So, here's what I have been told about these two very different men. On the one side, the owner of the Yankees was an incredibly unkind and mean man who swindled his people and caused countless arguments and heartaches (in my opinion only) but, on the opposite side the announcer for the Yankees was a strong and courageous Christian man (which is also in my opinion). Which one do you think will be remembered the most? Do we as humans only remember the bad people or do we as humans remember those who were kind and did us well? After they're gone, what will be remembered most? The bible says that we are to lay for ourselves treasures in heaven and not here on earth. God left a legacy through His word, the Bible, telling us of those who laid treasures for themselves up in heaven i.e David, Paul, Jacob, Joshua, Joseph, Peter, etc. It is my belief that we remember those who did good to us and treated us fairly in life after they are gone and are grateful to them for treating us fairly while they are here. Yes, I know we as humans can dwell on the negative towards a friend, companion, helpmate, or anyone but, in the end when all is said and done I believe we remember those who treated us well and wish to honor the memory of that person more so than the memory of the person who treated us poorly.
